Philosophy

  • Every person has the potential to grow in their learning of math if they take a good look at the concepts involved and take time to understand the underlying patterns.
  • Communicating about the ideas involved in math is a crucial part of developing deeper understanding.
  • Math is an important tool for learning about our world and helps us solve real-life problems.
  • Fact memorization is far from all there is to math, but it does play a role in learning in order to develop deeper understanding and make important connections while solving problems.
  • Learning happens best when we are proactive in the learning process.
